We are excited to offer an Internship opportunity on our Human Resources team. This role is ideal for a college student seeking hands-on experience and exposure to a wide range of HR functions in a professional environment. The HR Intern will assist with day-to-day HR operations, support ongoing projects, and gain meaningful insight into how an HR department supports the organization.

This internship offers the opportunity to take ownership of select responsibilities while learning from and shadowing members of the HR team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build professional relationships with coworkers and internal partners
• Learn about First International Bank & Trust and the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Values
• Assist with day-to-day HR tasks, which may include:
  • Timekeeping support and review
  • Onboarding of new employees
  • Maintaining and archiving proper correspondence, documents, and legal files
  • Assisting with HR audits and report requests
  • Research related to HR programs, policies, or initiatives
  • Supporting wellness initiatives and other HR programs
  • Assist with or own ad hoc projects and special assignments
• Shadow HR team members to gain exposure to various HR roles and responsibilities
• Identify opportunities for efficiency or process improvement
• Prepare for, attend, and actively participate in meetings by asking questions and taking notes

Qualifications:

• Current enrollment in an accredited university or collegiate program is required
• Pursuing a degree in a closely related field such as Human Resources, Business, Management, or a related discipline
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn
• Interest in Human Resources and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately
